Active solar thermal systems are commonly used and one of the most efficient ways to heat water for use in the home or business. In closed-loop systems, a heat transfer liquid flows through a flat-plate solar collector and a heat exchange coil in your solar hot water tank. As sunlight heats the liquid, it circulates though the heat exchanger coil and using FREE heat from the sun, heats your potable water.
